Living Better, Living Longer!

Governor Herbert has declared Nov. 11 - 17 as "Utah Pacific Islander Health Week" in an effort led by the Utah Pacific Islander Health Coalition to raise awareness and work toward solutions to the serious health issues that Utah's Pacific Islander communities face.

The week will feature motivational speaker and trainer, Sione Fa, who was also a contestant on NBC's The Biggest Loser.  All-day free admission to the swimming pool and recreational/fitness facilities will be available at the Sorenson Multicultural Center, as well as family-friendly activities, health resources, free flu shots, and food.

Pacific Islander health-related activities are scheduled throughout the week, including EMZ Zumba/Island Fitness celebration, World Diabetes Day march, Great American Smokeout and the MANA Fitness Challenge finale.
